Be Human - Antropomorf Totemism
My first thoughts relating to this object were soul and consciousness. Ever since we have become human beings, there has been a system of beliefs connected to these words, which I wanted to manifest, inspired by the culture of anthropomorphic totemism.
The forward-looking/utopian female body, her values shining through her eyes like fire, now only looking into the future, protecting herself with heavy armor. The backward-looking/mythological male body gazing upon the woman, with his smooth body polished by the blows of history.
The monochrome color palette was chosen to represent the chess pieces queen and king, for the social games only us humans play
- as seen in the work "Games People Play" by Eric Berne.
The two bodies have interlocking features, and each is wearing some of the other's color, just like the symbol of yin/yang.
I would like us to choose soul-totems like these, they can help us get down to the roots of what it means to be human.
